About The Position

The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is seeking dedicated Grade 1-5 Educational Specialists for its chapters. This role involves providing one-on-one intervention and support to students in reading, math, and executive functions. The ideal candidate will work with students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, ASD, or Executive Dysfunction, utilizing evidence-based instruction and assessment tools to create and implement personalized learning plans. Collaboration with parents and educators is key, as is fostering a positive learning environment to help students achieve their reading goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Special Education, Speech Language Pathology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Certification as a Reading or Math Specialist or SPED certification
  • Experience working with neurodivergent students
  • Strong understanding of intervention strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build rapport and encourage students to enhance their reading skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including after-school and weekend sessions.
  • Reliable weekly and monthly schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction using evidence based instruction to support to students diagnosed with one or more of the following: ADD/ADHD, ASD, Executive Dysfunction
  • Utilize assessment tools to identify specific areas of need for each student.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans that address students' unique challenges.
  • Monitor student progress and make adjustments to instruction as needed.
  • Collaborate with parents and educators to communicate student progress and strategies for support.
  • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their reading goals.
