Education Specialist (Family Foster Care)
About The Position
Assure each student in the Family Foster Care Department has an educational plan which meets their individual needs, including school or other educational placement, transportation to school and supplemental educational services. In conjunction with the Caseworker, Social Worker and Behavioral Specialist/Therapist formulate and implement an education plan for each of those students. Coordinate educational services including tutoring and other enrichment services for youth. Assist with advocacy of school placement, transportation and supplemental educational services are in place for all youth within the Family Foster Care Department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
- Two years’ experience in Education or Child Welfare.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work evening and weekend time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational plans for students in the Family Foster Care Department.
- Coordinate educational services, including tutoring and enrichment programs.
- Advocate for school placement, transportation, and supplemental educational services for youth.
