About The Position

The Education Program Assistant works with and responds to inquiries from, federal program specialists, school district food service directors, and transportation companies. This position is responsible for collecting data, preparing forms and paperwork, and preparing program materials to support the program coordinator. The position is responsible for the ordering, allocation, and distribution of USDA Food items statewide.

Requirements

  • Two years of full proficiency level clerical experience
  • One year of clerical experience in an educational environment (e.g., traditional, correspondence or continuing education schools, education service providers or regulatory agencies)
  • Adaptability: adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Clerical: Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Must provide three (3) professional references.
  • Must provide current performance evaluation, if available.
  • Must provide a copy of academic transcripts (unofficial is okay; please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcripts) to verify minimum qualifications.
  • If education is completed in a foreign college or university, must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university.
  • Work experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications must be documented in the application.
