About The Position

The City of Springfield is seeking an Education Outreach Specialist to develop and deliver engaging environmental or transportation-related education programs for the community. This role plans and implements public outreach initiatives, creates educational materials, and represents the City at events, meetings, and facility tours. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and passionate about sustainability, infrastructure, and community engagement.

Requirements

Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Communication, Marketing, Education, Natural & Applied Sciences, Graphic Design, Planning, or related field.
Two years' experience in developing or providing vacancy related educational programming to community, schools or similar audiences is preferable.
Directly related experience may be substituted for the formal education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States as established by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 is a condition of employment.
Pre-employment drug testing is required.
