About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our School Program team in the role of Education Liaison-Inpatient. The role provides support for the educational needs of pediatric patients, including but not limited to collaborative educational planning with the patient’s local school system throughout hospitalization, treatment, and long ‑ term needs. Responsibilities include providing direct instruction and bedside instruction for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade, offering school recommendations from the medical team such as Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, and Health Care Plans, and serving as an advocate for patients. The position consults with the patient’s family, school, and medical team regarding educational needs, administers academic achievement testing for identified patients, and arranges and participates in school conference meetings, as able, to effectively communicate the medical team’s recommendations and the student’s school needs within the educational environment. Additionally, the role maintains organization of student electronic files, chart notes, and student information in adherence with HIPAA regulations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • A valid Indiana Teacher's license with special education endorsements
