About The Position

Reporting to the Director Health Services - Staff Development, Infection Prevention & Control (IP&C), the Education Facilitator & Infection Control Practitioner participates as an active member of the Regional Staff Development, IP&C Department through collaboration in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of regional education. This position includes resource development with elements of research application and integration, and policy and procedure development as it relates to promote an optimal standard of safety for clients and staff. The incumbent is proactive in identifying and meeting his/her own learning needs as well as those of the other health professionals within Southern Health-Santé Sud. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years full time nursing experience in a relevant healthcare practice setting and/or professional development.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current active practice registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Current instructor certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Heart and Stroke Foundation).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of adult education, teaching and learning strategies.
  • Knowledge of policy development and implementation.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • Completes and maintains Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
