About The Position

The Education Coordinator facilitates all required and desired educational opportunities to Habitat for Humanity of Omaha’s homeownership and owner-occupied program participants. Key aspect of this role is delivering all education offerings to clients and members of the community at large. The Education Coordinator plays a crucial role in equipping homeowner participants with the knowledge and skills required for successful home ownership. The Education Coordinator will report to the Education Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 2–4 years of experience in adult education, community outreach, or financial coaching.
  • Experience facilitating training or developing educational content is required.
  • Strong ability to teach, present, and engage diverse audiences.
  • Skilled at managing multiple programs, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Effective partner across teams and departments.
  • Comfortable with reporting, tracking, and program systems.
  • Ability to connect authentically with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of applicable experience preferred in housing, social services, nonprofit programs, or community development.
  • Experience working with low- to moderate-income populations preferred.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and Coordinate Educational Programs: Facilitate monthly and as-needed homebuyer education, financial literacy, and post-purchase courses.
  • Deliver culturally and linguistically responsive education to diverse audiences.
  • Reinforce key program concepts, including the Equity Promise and homeownership readiness requirements.
  • Educate program participants on Sweat Equity expectations and overall program milestones.
  • Source content and assist with development of educational materials, including the monthly homeowner newsletter.
  • Provide completion certificates and documentation to Family Services and Mortgage teams to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure accurate education program data and reporting for cross-departmental needs.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting efforts, including REACH reporting.
  • Connect the Homeownership Journey: Serve as a bridge between program phases, helping ensure smooth transitions for participants.
  • Collaborate closely with Family Services, Mortgage, and other teams to align education with client progress.
  • Share participant success stories with Development and Communications teams.
  • Engage in Outreach & Continuous Improvement: Support outreach and advocacy efforts to increase awareness and participation in education programs.
  • Stay current on industry trends, certifications, and best practices in housing education and financial coaching.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and contribute ideas for improvement and innovation.
