About The Position

This position is set to start on October 5th and is scheduled for 16-18 hours per week, running from August to May with summers off. The Education Assistant will assist classroom staff with daily routine operations, including child drop-off and pick-up times, meal and snack preparation, school bus monitoring, and providing staff break times. CPCD provides early childhood education to over 1,100 children living in poverty or facing special circumstances through Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Universal Preschool Program. Additional health, dental, and family support services are offered to ensure children are ready for school and life. Requirements

Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds
Ability to work with multiple staff members in one setting
HS diploma or GED
Must obtain and maintain adult/infant CPR and first aid certification within 90-days of employment
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing
Must have access to reliable transportation with minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado; to perform functions of the job, including being able to go to another location during the workday if necessary

Nice To Haves

At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age three and/or to age five
Bilingual in English and Spanish languages
