About The Position

Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Class 3A Education Assistant Resource. This is a seven-hour per day position, including 6.5 hours of paid work time and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The hourly rate is $24.03, based on the current EA contract salary schedule, plus benefits. The role involves assisting with supervision and instruction for students with disabilities, providing clerical and organizational support to special education teachers, working with individuals and small groups, and supporting students in crisis. The position requires a willingness to lift, carry, and physically manage students as necessary, along with other duties assigned by the teacher or principal.

Requirements

At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in MN), an associate's or higher degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment.
Word processing, filing and computer familiarity.
Patient, calm and understanding manner when working with students.
Sensitivity to confidentiality.
Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.
Able to assist students with classroom assignments.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and has the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with students who have cognitive disabilities, physical disabilities and behavior problems preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists in providing supervision and instruction to students with disabilities.
Provides clerical and organizational support to special education teachers as needed.
Works with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented by mainstream teachers and/or special education teachers.
Provides support for students in crisis.
Willingness to lift, carry and physically manage as necessary.
