Education Administration Specialist
About The Position
As an Education Administration Specialist with the Department of Education, you will help advance the statewide Summer Food Service Program. Your work will support sponsors, improve training, and guide program activities that benefit thousands of children. This position supports the administration of the Summer Food Service Program by reviewing guidance, assisting sponsors, and strengthening program operations. Work involves ensuring compliance, improving outreach, and maintaining effective program tools.
Requirements
- One year of experience as an Education Administration Associate (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of professional experience in education including at least two years in educational administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
- Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

- Securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania (for telework).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate federal and state requirements and assist in developing program guidance for sponsors
- Create and update training materials and conduct sessions for sponsors and program staff
- Respond to questions, review applications, and support new and returning sponsors with onboarding
- Conduct onsite visits and assist with administrative reviews to ensure compliance with regulations
- Compile participation information, analyze program data, and assist in preparing required reports
- Plan and carry out outreach activities to expand participation and reach underserved areas
