Temp Education Abroad Advisor
About The Position
Within the Education Abroad (EA) unit, this role offers the rewarding opportunity to engage with motivated students who seek to make the world their classroom. This position is responsible for providing student support in the form of individual and group advising through the application, pre-departure, experience abroad, and return of individual students and groups. Through presentations, virtual and in-person advising, emails, and outreach events, the advisor will serve as the primary contact for students throughout their international education journey. This position will also include assigned team projects, attendance at regular EA and advising team meetings, and completion of other administrative duties based on the needs of the office.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated interest and engagement and international education
- Experience working in an office setting
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of people at all levels of an organization, including culturally diverse communities

Responsibilities
- Serve as the EA advisor for two to three blocks of open advising per week and hold six hours of appointment advising (10-12 advising appointments per week)
- Provide administrative support and serve as the campus advisor for a specific regional portfolio and general education abroad 101 advising
- Attend and participate in regular advising team meetings, lead classroom and group presentations, education abroad fair, tabling and other events to educate the CSU campus on international opportunities
- Co-coordinate regional information sessions and pre-departure orientation sessions for students, communicate with students abroad, and assists students upon return with questions related to program evaluation, credit transfer, etc.
- Communicate individually with students, staff, and parents, in-person, virtually, via email, and over the phone, to assess appropriate program placements, financial responsibilities, and CSU administrative policies on education abroad
- Manage applications and support students through the education abroad process using the Terra Dotta Application Management system
- Serve as an alternate for GAC front desk coverage, as needed
- Assist with other projects/duties as assigned
