About The Position
A Cleveland, Ohio area manufacture is hiring a Senior Level CNC EDM Mold Machinist (Wire and Sinker). This is a permanent, full-time position in a high-precision, tight-tolerance tool and die/mold building environment. The EDM Machinist will be responsible for the end-to-end programming, operation, scheduling, and maintenance of both Wire and Sinker EDM equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience programming and operating CNC Wire EDM and/or CNC Sinker EDM machines.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
- Experience working in a tight-tolerance mold building or tool & die shop setting.
- High School diploma, GED and Technical degree or Journeyman card in machining.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with surface grinding and manual mold assembly is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC Wire and Sinker EDM machines to produce highly intricate shapes with extreme precision.
- Manage and schedule workflow through the EDM department to meet tight production deadlines.
- Machine components within tight tolerances typical of high-quality mold building.
- Perform preventative maintenance on EDM equipment, including wire spooling, electrode management, and maintaining fluid/deionized water filtration systems.
- Assist with manual grinding and mold assembly tasks as needed to support the toolroom team.
