About The Position

A precision machining job shop serving aerospace, defense, medical, and microelectronics customers is hiring an EDM Machinist. The position is primarily focused on wire EDM, with some sinker EDM work. The shop produces short-run, tight-tolerance parts that vary from day to day and is AS9100D and ISO 9001 certified. The machinist owns parts from setup through inspection and is encouraged to contribute ideas on fixturing and process. The position is based in Plymouth, Minnesota, with a day shift and flexible hours. Pay is $35–$42 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Proven wire EDM setup and operation experience.
• Ability to hold very tight tolerances on short-run work.
• Strong blueprint-reading and inspection skills.
• A steady work history.
• Must be a U.S. person because the work involves ITAR-controlled technical data.

Nice To Haves

• Sinker EDM experience.
• Job shop, tool room, or mold shop background is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate wire EDM machines to produce high-precision parts to print.
• Run sinker EDM machines as needed.
• Plan workholding and setups, and adjust offsets and cutting conditions.
• Inspect parts in process and at final using precision measuring tools.
• Read blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Maintain EDM equipment and keep the work area in good order.
