About The Position

This position is for a Machine Operator on the 2nd shift. The role requires an individual to perform machining operations per specifications, maintain production standards and quality, and adhere to safety procedures. The operator will be responsible for setting up and operating assigned machines, including CNC EDM and CNC EDM machining centers, and utilizing measuring tools to inspect parts. Marginal duties include performing preventative maintenance, R&D of new programming, manual machining operations, and other tasks as needed within the facility.

Requirements

H.S. diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years + experience in machining, measuring equipment and CNC EDM set-up and program editing.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-solving ability.
Ability to accurately interpret operation sheets and/or work in-process documents.
Math and computer technology skills as well as the ability to read and use measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with supervisor, engineers, and co-workers.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regular attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

Employed in current position at least 1 year (12 months).
Written confirmation of acceptable performance record/evaluation signed by the employee's supervisor and completed no more than 18 months prior to date of transfer application.
Maintain an acceptable level of performance including but not limited to absence of corrective action and/or resolution of previous corrective action.
Successfully pass any special screening processes required for the position of interest, including but not limited to background investigations, drug screens, and skills assessments.
A transferred employee may be subject to additional background screening as required by the position.

Responsibilities

Responsible for complying with TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) Program.
Responsible for complying with CTQ (Critical to Quality) Program.
Set up and operate assigned machine.
Solving minor set up problems.
Perform machining operations per specifications.
Perform safety procedures and general daily housekeeping.
Maintain production standards and quality.
Regular attendance and punctuality.
Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
Ensures compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements.
Operate and set up computerized numerical control machines: lasers CNC - EDM, CNC EDM machining centers
Utilize measuring tools to inspect parts.
Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment when required.
R&D of new programming.
Perform manual machining operations.
Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed.
