About The Position

Alpha Data Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Specialist to join their Data team. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and availability of data used across investment, risk, compliance, and client reporting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial instruments, data governance, and data quality frameworks, with hands-on experience in SQL and programming languages to support data mapping, transformation, and analysis. This role will report to the ADS Sec Master and Issuer Practice for America, responsible for the development and maturity of the EDM platform, adding new domains, and ensuring continuity in configuration and operating models. The role is accountable for ensuring ADS commitments are clearly documented and managed, and for managing the risk of delays, slippage, and communications to the wider team. This is a proactive role to improve confidence in ADS product commitments to clients, involving documentation, testing, and coordination of teams across multiple disciplines within State Street and Charles River.

Requirements

Strong experience and analytics interest in the content and management of data within Order management systems used for trading and decision support.
Detail-oriented and analytical Data specialist with experience and knowledge of Asset management functions and platform content.
Strong understanding of financial instruments, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
Hands-on experience in SQL and programming languages to support data mapping, transformation, and analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experienced working Order Management systems gained from AIM, Charles River or Alladin.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
Experience across the full data science project lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., MiFID II, ESG reporting) is a plus.
Experience with data management platforms and market data providers (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).

Responsibilities

Monitor and suggest ways to improve the time to market and data availability of data for testing into Implementation teams.
Document requirements from the implementations which are accepted by the Practice leads as core enhancements.
Work with operations teams to improve the consistency of operating model and closure of any gaps identified.
Own the implementation documentation around EDM, basecamp standards, operational UI configurations and look for ways to mature these.
Conduct root cause analysis of data issues and recommend remediation strategies which are raised by Implementation teams.
Manage and maintain reference and market data mappings for sources into EDM (e.g., securities, benchmarks, pricing).
Develop and maintain data mapping logic across systems and data sources.
Use SQL and programming tools to transform, validate, and reconcile data across platforms to ensure the platform is performing as expected.
Work with the insights & Analytics teams to mature and maintain dashboards and reports to track data availability metrics with regular cadence with End to end test teams to ensure they are leveraging them.
Provide support to client EDM Professional Services teams and Model office teams to ensure Model office is tested and managed.
Assist in the automation of data validation and testing practices in Model office.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
Act as a point of contact for data-related queries and issue resolution.
Support timely delivery of solution and change initiatives for our clients with accurate and timely data.
