About The Position

Prowess Consulting is seeking a skilled Editorial Production Manager with strong content editing abilities to support a prominent technology client's high-profile projects. This role involves daily editing for a news site and blog, focusing on content selection, headline and copy enhancement, and adherence to style standards. The position also includes content creation and updates, often under tight deadlines, and coordinating review processes. The ideal candidate possesses sharp news judgment, excellent editing skills, and the capacity to work efficiently and calmly under pressure.

Requirements

Strong journalism/content editing skills
Familiarity with AP Style
Solid news judgment
Basic understanding of technology and the industry
Ability to engage constructively with a wide range of stakeholders to drive shared outcomes, including across global teams.
Available during core Pacific time hours, 9 AM – 6 PM, including late-day needs and occasional late-night or early-morning publishing
Able to work efficiently against tight deadlines
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington.

Responsibilities

Serve as editor of the news site and daily blog, collaborating with the managing editor and writing team to select content for homepages, ensuring high standards for headlines, copy, and visuals.
Plan blog content, working with stakeholders and writers on development and execution, including idea generation, content planning, editing, assisting with reviews/approvals, and ensuring final product quality.
Edit and update content such as blog posts, media resources, and other materials, refining structure, tone, and clarity while adhering to Associated Press (AP) style and company style guidelines.
Build and publish press releases, blog posts, press resources, and various content quickly and accurately using the content management system, often under deadline pressure.
Write short-form content, including social media copy, headlines, link text, and captions.
Collaborate with the platform team to troubleshoot and test new features, and create/update guidance for publishing tasks.
Assist with occasional after-hours or weekend editing/publishing as needed, depending on news cycles.
