About The Position

The Arlington Catholic Herald is the official newspaper of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington. It supports the Church’s mission to evangelize by providing news from a Catholic perspective. The Intern will support the Herald’s work by undertaking and completing a variety of projects and assignments principally on behalf of the editorial staff. This is a paid internship of 35 hours a week with a tentative start date Sept. 14, 2026, ending in December 2026. This position will be based onsite in Arlington, VA. Pay rate: $17.00.

Requirements

• College student actively pursuing (or recent college graduate with) an undergraduate degree in journalism or a related field
• Strong writing, editing, and digital/social media skills
• Extraordinary attention to detail
• Must be a fully initiated and practicing Catholic

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working for a media publication preferred

Responsibilities

• Propose, write and edit content for CatholicHerald.com and/or the print edition of the newspaper
• Write and edit content for Catholic Herald social media channels
• Research and edit articles
• Support the layout and production process for the print edition
• Cover diocesan events as needed
• Assist the advertising and circulation departments occasionally as warranted
• Perform additional duties as assigned
