This internship is designed for individuals passionate about education, culture, data, and visual storytelling. It offers a dual experience, split between the Editorial Graphics team and the Education team. The Editorial Graphics portion (October-January) involves creating information graphics, data visualizations, and special story presentations in collaboration with reporters and editors, focusing on honing data visualization, coding, and data reporting skills. The Education portion (January-April) focuses on how learning happens, with the intern contributing to radio stories, video posts, and social media, pitching and researching stories, writing for NPR.org and the NPR Ed newsletter, assisting correspondents, and potentially helping with the NPR Student Podcast Challenge. This is an NPR editorial role governed by the NPR Ethics Handbook.
