About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Editorial and Administrative Specialist. The Editorial and Administrative Specialist provides direct support to the Director of the University of Nevada Press by assisting with editorial, acquisitions, and administration. Tasks include working with the editorial, design, and production manager on manuscript clean-up, proofreading, and copyediting; tracking submissions and handling review outreach and tracking (acquisitions); and handling UNR Press administrative functions. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing fiscal and HR administrative support to the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience; OR Master’s degree
  • Experience in editing, administration, book publishing or a related field
  • A Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Working with the editorial, design, and production manager on manuscript clean-up, proofreading, and copyediting
  • Tracking submissions and handling review outreach and tracking (acquisitions)
  • Handling UNR Press administrative functions
  • Providing fiscal and HR administrative support to the department
