About The Position
A longtime wildlife publication is in need of a new writer/editor. Waterline, a weekly magazine that covers Southwest Florida, needs a journalist who is close to nature and can connect it to readers. Waterline is a product of Adams MultiMedia and The Daily Sun based in Charlotte Harbor, Florida. Waterline covers waters along the Gulf Coast from Sarasota Bay to Fort Myers, concentrating along Charlotte County. It also includes rivers and land-based stories in DeSoto, Charlotte and Sarasota counties. The editor may also be tasked with writing occasionally for the daily news product, covering environmental or other related events. Waterline concentrates on fishing, boating, hunting and other outdoors topics, but can also assist in news and sports coverage.
Requirements
- Background in environmental or wildlife journalism
- Ability to connect nature to readers
- Journalist who is close to nature
