About The Position

New York Times Cooking is looking for a strategic, dynamic and discerning editor to lead our talent strategy. You'll be one of the primary architects of our growing talent network in an interdisciplinary role that sits at the intersection of video production, culinary development and audience strategy work. Your focus will be expanding and programming our roster of exceptional talent, who appear on our platforms and social channels, and increasingly in Cooking content on their own channels. You'll identify and engage with strong recipe creators who are skilled at cooking on camera and connecting with an audience, managing scouting, outreach, creative development and the relationships over time. The ideal candidate is an electric and innovative strategic thinker with big ideas and a desire to experiment. You have the presence to represent Cooking in conversations externally and the confidence to develop and advocate for strategy internally. Expertise on the food landscape and YouTube, Instagram and TikTok are essential to success in this role, as is a knack for identifying the best and most unique voices. This is an in-office position, based in New York City, and includes regular attendance in the office four days each week. There may be some flexibility to work remotely per your departmental guidance.

  • Functional culinary knowledge; you are comfortable discussing recipe mechanics, testing processes and food quality with professional recipe developers and editors
