Editor / Storyboard Writer

RYZERemote-Serbia, GA

About The Position

We’re looking for a performance-driven Storyboard Writer / Video Editor who understands what makes ads convert. This role is primarily focused on creating high-performing storyboards, with editing as a secondary skill used to execute or refine concepts. The role involves creating performance-driven storyboards for social media ads, defining the full visual flow of each ad (talking head, B-roll, actions), specifying actor actions, and providing clear direction to editors. The position also requires developing strong hooks, angles, and structures based on current trends and performance data, thinking in terms of scroll-stopping moments and retention drivers, and iterating concepts based on performance data and feedback. Staying on top of trends, formats, and winning ad patterns is crucial. Collaboration with marketing, editors, and copywriters is expected to improve results. Editing ads to execute or refine concepts is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Experience in storyboarding for ads
  • Experience with DTC brands or UGC formats
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing and direct-response principles
  • Understanding of core performance metrics (hook rate, hold rate, retention)
  • Strong instinct for what feels native to each platform
  • Familiarity with current trends and ad formats
  • Comfortable using AI tools (avatars, voice, generative video, etc.)
  • Solid editing skills (Premiere Pro / After Effects)
  • Strong written English (clear, concise, conversion-focused)
  • Ability to work fast, iterate, and handle multiple concepts simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Create performance-driven storyboards for paid social ads — defining the full visual flow of each concept: talking head, B-roll, actions, hooks, and on-screen text.
  • Specify exactly what the actor is doing and showing in every moment — your storyboards should be executable without additional direction.
  • Provide clear guidance to editors on what to do: include stock footage, generate with AI, add motion graphics, etc.
  • Develop strong hooks, angles, and ad structures based on what's currently working across Meta and other platforms.
  • Think in scroll-stopping moments, pattern interrupts, and retention drivers — and build those into every concept.
  • Iterate concepts based on performance data and creative feedback.
  • Stay on top of trends, formats, and winning ad patterns across DTC and direct-response categories.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, editors, and copywriters to improve results.
  • Edit ads when needed to execute or refine your own storyboard concepts.
  • Use Adobe Premiere Pro as the primary editing tool, with After Effects as needed.
  • Use AI tools (avatars, voice, generative video, etc.) to supplement and enhance creative output.
