About The Position

Axios is a modern media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring a Politics Enterprise Editor to help set the agenda for Axios’ political coverage and deliver distinctive, high-impact journalism. The most important stories aren’t always the most obvious. We're looking for a creative, ambitious editor who can spot the trends others are missing, connect the dots across beats and help turn smart ideas into must-read coverage.

Requirements

Reporting experience in a fast-paced news environment.
Demonstrated experience landing big scoops and conceptualizing big ideas.
Strong writing skills for online and newsletters.
A belief in Smart Brevity as the core writing style of Axios.
A commitment to building and nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment.
Ability to command a stage and conduct live interviews.
Experience working across teams to produce quality content.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Generate distinctive enterprise ideas and work with reporters to turn them into stories that break through.
Work across the politics team and the newsroom to connect the dots between beats and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Actively develop AI literacy and use AI tools to enhance productivity, creativity, and efficiency.
