About The Position

Baylor University's Academic Video team is seeking an Editor and Motion Graphics Artist to support the university's online graduate programs and online components of other courses. This role is part of an evolving creative team focused on breaking new ground in video engagement in higher education. The position will be instrumental in visual storytelling, pushing the boundaries of how higher learning is expressed in video. The team is transitioning from a studio facility booking model to a creative team with video facilities model.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience are required.
  • Additional education or experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and finish video content in the Adobe Creative Suite with a high degree of polish, clarity, and brand alignment including motion graphics and compositing, color correction/grading, titling, sound design/mix, closed captioning where applicable, exporting, and delivery to client/distribution channel
  • Archive assets and output postproduction reports and maintaining an organized asset system
  • Design and animate custom motion graphics and packages including bumpers and lower thirds in After Effects in line with the Baylor brand guidelines, yet giving each college its own tonal mark of distinction
  • Design and create a library of MOGRTS for department use to expand our repertoire, along with other graphics like slates, introductory graphics, logo animations, etc.
  • Collaborate with Executive Producer, Production Coordinator, and Producers to bring concepts to life visually, especially to advance department capabilities and industry status and influence
  • Research, follow, and experiment with ever-changing trends in AI techniques and uses
  • Inform the dialogue for trends and ethical and responsible use of AI in departmental work
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and other team updates regularly as well as professional development workshops as appropriate
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
