About The Position

Viridian Staffing's Client is seeking an experienced cannabis culinary professional to join their fast-growing cannabis company as an Edibles Chef. This role is located approximately thirty minutes outside of the downtown Tampa, Florida, area. In this position, you will collaborate closely with operations, sales, and compliance teams to lead the production of edible products. You will be responsible for overseeing the continued scaling up of kitchen/edibles operations while adhering strictly to established company recipes. Leveraging your proven success in cannabis edible production for commercial markets, you will also manage cooking and quality control for all ingredients and final products. Your duties will include refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring the operations team complies with all safety, security, and health regulations and SOPs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a relevant degree.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in cannabis or hemp edible production in the regulated cannabis marketplace.
  • 1+ years of experience in managing a kitchen/edibles lab.
  • Previous experience working in the Food & Beverage/CPG industry.
  • Mathematical skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific information to non-scientific individuals.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around heated kettles and ovens.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in the production of edible products, working closely with operations, sales, and compliance.
  • Oversee the continued scaling up of kitchen/edibles operations.
  • Follow established company recipes.
  • Cook and perform quality control for all ingredients and final products.
  • Refine SOPs.
  • Ensure the operation team is in compliance with all regulations and SOPs relating to safety, security, and health.

Benefits
