Experience with IBM B2Bi (Newest version of Sterling Integrator) is what we are really looking for. This role sits at the intersection of Operations, Engineering, Product, and production support. The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with live production systems, and motivated by keeping business-critical workflows moving.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in EDI and software development, application support engineering, production support, DevOps-adjacent engineering, or a similar technical role
  • Experience writing, modifying, testing, and supporting software code, scripts, queries, utilities, or configuration changes in a business or production environment
  • Working knowledge of the software development life cycle, including requirements interpretation, development, testing, deployment, validation, and post-release support
  • Experience supporting, troubleshooting, or maintaining business-critical software applications, preferably in a production environment
  • Ability to develop and execute unit tests, smoke tests, workflow validation, and issue-reproduction steps
  • Programming or scripting knowledge sufficient to implement fixes, utilities, automation, reporting support, or operational improvements
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across applications, data, integrations, logs, and operational processes
  • Comfort working with production systems, deployment procedures, change control, release validation, and timely escalation of production risk
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EDI, IBM B2Bi translator, clearinghouse workflows, or transaction processing environments
  • Experience with SQL, databases, logs, queues, APIs, batch jobs, file transfers, or integration monitoring
  • Experience with production deployment tools, version control, CI/CD pipelines, release management, or operational runbooks
  • Experience in application support, production support, DevOps-adjacent, release engineering, or systems operations roles

Responsibilities

  • Triage and resolve EDI and application-related support tickets in a timely and professional manner
  • Onboarding new clients and transforming older clients into our system using IBM B2Bi (Sterling Integrator)
  • Monitor production workflows, transaction processing, claim queues, exceptions, failures, and related operational processes
  • Troubleshoot application, data, integration, workflow, and production processing issues across EDI and claims management systems
  • Coordinate, perform, and validate production deployments, including release readiness checks, deployment execution, smoke testing, and post-deployment verification
  • Assist with deployment planning, rollback awareness, release documentation, and production change-management procedures
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements in existing programs, systems, workflows, and production processes
  • Implement small-to-medium software fixes, scripts, database queries, utilities, automation, configuration updates, and process improvements as directed
  • Perform testing and validation of fixes, enhancements, deployments, and operational changes before and after production release
  • Develop, maintain, and follow quality assurance procedures, support procedures, deployment checklists, and operational runbooks
  • Maintain and upgrade existing solutions or systems as directed by engineering leadership
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, operations team members, and leadership
  • Escalate complex engineering, architectural, security, compliance, or production-risk matters to the appropriate leader promptly
  • Prepare production deployment materials, checklists, release notes, and validation steps as required
  • Coordinate deployment timing and communication with Engineering, Operations, Product, and other stakeholders
  • Execute or support production deployments in accordance with company procedures and approval requirements
  • Perform pre-deployment checks, post-deployment smoke testing, production validation, and issue monitoring
  • Document deployment outcomes, issues encountered, remediation steps, and follow-up actions
  • Help maintain reliable, repeatable, and auditable production release practices
