About The Position

Buchanan Hauling is hiring an EDI Developer to build, maintain, and improve electronic data connections between the company, its customers, and its business partners. The role focuses on reliable data exchange in the transportation industry, helping prevent delays, errors, and operational challenges. The EDI Developer works closely with internal departments and external partners to develop EDI templates, troubleshoot transaction issues, and use SQL to ensure information flows accurately and efficiently. The position reports directly to the Director of IT.

Requirements

• EDI and SQL experience required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience with McLeod or another Transportation Management System (TMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain EDI templates based on customer specifications.
• Establish and support EDI connections with customers and business partners.
• Troubleshoot EDI errors, identify root causes, and prevent recurring issues.
• Use SQL to validate data and ensure accurate EDI configurations.
• Test EDI transactions to ensure information is transmitted correctly.
• Maintain documentation for EDI setups, mapping changes, and issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline processes.
