The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks qualified applicants for the Department of Human Services to teach and provide content expertise for programs in Counselor Education during the 2026-2027 academic year and 2027 summer. Positions will be filled on an as-needed basis according to curriculum needs and appointments are typically for teaching a single course. If no position is currently available, we will retain submitted applications on file for future consideration through the 2026-2027 academic year and 2027 summer. This is a wage position that is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. Faculty wage employment is usually less than 0.5 FTE (teaching fewer than 6 credits or the equivalent of no more than 19 hours per week); is offered for only one or two semesters at a time; and applies to faculty members paid solely via Period Activity Pay. Wage Faculty (Adjunct) positions come with no expectation of renewal, and are not eligible for leave or other benefits.
