About The Position

Mervin Manufacturing, home of Lib Tech, GNU, and Bent Metal, is a leading designer and manufacturer of snowboarding, skiing, surfing, and skateboarding products. They operate the world's most environmental factory, staffed by people who are passionate about the sports they serve. Founded in 1977 by snowboarders Mike Olson and Pete Saari, Mervin Manufacturing stands as the longest-running and last major board-building factory in the USA, distinguishing itself in an industry that has largely moved production overseas. Located in Carlsborg, Washington, the company is situated between the Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, fostering a direct connection between the sports and their manufacturing. This role involves the edging and preparation of snowboard bases and cores.

Requirements

• Must be 18 or older on first day of employment.
• No experience required - we will train you!
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Adaptable to minor alterations in daily expectations.
• Able to read and do simple arithmetic.
• Good communication skills.
• Will be working with hands 100% of the time.
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player.

Nice To Haves

• Strong eye-hand coordination a plus.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, anneal, punch, sandblast and bend steel.
• Use of hand tools to fit and glue steel to base.
• Use of jig to edge ski and split bases.
• Match side sticks and core profiles and cut sticks to length.
• Glue side sticks and tip/tail material to core profiles.
• Place binding inserts into designated areas on core.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Wear assigned and applicable personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work safely.
• Other duties may be assigned.
