The Unit Clerk performs clerical duties within the nursing unit, coordinating information flow to ensure safe and efficient patient care. The role involves receiving and disseminating information among patients, families, and the healthcare team, both internally and externally. The Emergency Department is a 26-bed Accredited Chest Pain Center and Level III Trauma Center, offering a positive and engaging work environment that fosters learning and development. This position provides variety and unique experiences each shift, including opportunities to care for a diverse patient population and engage in life-saving critical situations. ThedaCare provides a tailored orientation plan, compensated ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications, and opportunities for committee work, clinical advancement, and advanced accreditations.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the flow of information via multiple channels between patients, family, and members of the healthcare team both inside and outside of the department to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
• Performs clerical duties related to patient information and events within the electronic medical record that provides an accurate and current record.
• Performs inventory management including ordering medical or office supplies to guarantee correct par levels.
