Emergency Department One of the busiest Emergency Departments in Massachusetts, serving over 122,000 adult and pediatric patients annually 94 private treatment rooms within a 72,000-square-foot department, including dedicated pediatric and behavioral health areas Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and major regional referral center Highly engaged providers and shared governance structure supporting innovation and teamwork RESPONSIBILITIES: Baystate Health, Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) is responsible for direct patient care including hygiene, skin care, mobility, transfers, and monitoring. This multi-skilled incumbent performs a variety of duties related to phlebotomy, EKGs, assisting with procedures, taking vitals, recording drainage patterns, and wound care. The ED Tech is also responsible for assisting with elimination of body wastes, performing POC testing and communicating effectively with patients and team members.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Direct patient care experience 1-3 years
  • CPR-American Heart Association BLS
  • Phlebotomy certification required
  • Ability to work rotating days, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to multitask
  • Computer literate
  • Education: GED or HiSET (Required)

Nice To Haves
