Provides patient care as assigned and per routine, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures. Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner, documents care provided according to standards, and maintains a clean work and patient environment. Manages supplies by stocking new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged ones. Processes orders accurately and timely, answers the telephone and call lights appropriately, provides information, or relays messages to patients and staff. Directs visitors to patient's rooms, maintains medical records of current patients, processes patient charges, and orders supplies as needed. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities. Performs 12 Lead EKGs, starts IVs, performs venipunctures, assists ED MDs with intubation by gathering needed equipment, performs CPR and places the Lucas on patients during resuscitations, performs splint applications, assists with chest tube insertions by gathering needed supplies/equipment, performs BGMs, and transports non-monitored patients to the inpatient units.
