This is a casual position primarily for Night Shift Hours with no weekend requirements and one holiday per calendar year. The ED technician assists physicians and other health care team members with hospital systems to access patient information, supports communication to facilitate patient care, and coordinates tests and treatments with various departments. They maintain a working knowledge of diagnostic and treatment departments to facilitate scheduling, provide appropriate documentation, and manage communications via multiple lines of communication. The role involves processing daily patient charges, collaborating with physicians, and coordinating all forms of communication. Additionally, the technician assists physicians and registered nurses in technical patient care, including phlebotomy, transporting patients, monitoring vital signs, wound care, inserting Foley catheters, obtaining lab specimens, and potentially performing IV starts if state regulations allow. They document information and procedures, communicate observations to the registered nurse, monitor and troubleshoot department office equipment, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
