ED Tech Part Time 11A-11P
About The Position
Seeking an ED Tech for a part-time position (24 hours/week) working 11A-11P with varying days and rotating weekends in the Emergency Department at Baptist Health Floyd. The ED Technician I is responsible for triaging patients, including rooming, undressing, placing patients on cardiac monitors, obtaining vital signs and blood sugar, answering call lights, assisting with procedure set-ups while maintaining sterile fields, cleaning and dressing wounds, assisting with casting and splinting, fitting patients with various devices, collecting swabs, transporting patients, performing EKGs, and assisting with resuscitations. They will also perform either Foleys & urine catheters or phlebotomy.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification from approved BLS course required
Responsibilities
- Triaging patients (rooming, undressing, placing patient on cardiac monitor, obtaining BP, temperature, blood sugar via the glucometer, etc.)
- Answering call lights
- Helping with various procedure set-ups while maintaining sterile fields (central lines, wound kits, gynecology, etc.)
- Cleans and dresses wounds, and I&D’s
- Assists with casting & splinting
- Fits patients with various devices such as (slings, camm boots, walkers, stretchers, etc.)
- Collects swabs such as flu & strep
- Transporting patients (CT, Ultrasound, MRI and/or inpatient units, etc.)
- Performs EKG’s as requested
- Assist with all resuscitations
- Performing Foleys & urine catheters OR phlebotomy
