About The Position

Seeking an ED Tech for a full-time position (36 hours/week) working 9A-9P, with varying days and rotating weekends. This role is in the Emergency Department at Baptist Health Floyd, serving the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area. The ED Technician I is the second tier of the pre-analytical testing team within the ED (triage, fast-track, and/or main ED). Responsibilities include triaging patients (rooming, undressing, placing patient on cardiac monitor, obtaining BP, temperature, blood sugar via the glucometer, etc.), answering call lights, assisting with various procedure set-ups while maintaining sterile fields (central lines, wound kits, gynecology, etc.), cleaning and dressing wounds, and I&Ds, assisting with casting & splinting, fitting patients with various devices such as (slings, camm boots, walkers, stretchers, etc.), collecting swabs such as flu & strep, transporting patients (CT, Ultrasound, MRI and/or inpatient units, etc.), performing EKGs as requested, assisting with all resuscitations in addition to either performing Foleys & urine catheters OR phlebotomy. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS certification from approved BLS course required
