About The Position

Responsible for assisting the nurse in completion of patient care activities, taking into consideration the patient’s developmental levels. Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated. Appropriately handles patient information understanding confidentiality and privacy. Complies with the safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of injury. Is knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission of the hospital. The PCA promotes a patient and family experience-oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external. The ED Tech delivers basic patient care, provides comfort measures, maintains patient care environment, and reports patient responses to nursing interventions. The Clinical Support II is a member of the Collaborative Practice team and renders care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Standards of Practice. It is essential that all nursing tasks performed by trained unlicensed assistive personnel be done under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The delegating licensed nurse retains accountability for the delegation and the outcome of the task (Ohio Revised Code -- ORC, Section 4723.28). This position will provide patient transport.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • PCA Training or actively enrolled in a healthcare related education program (to include nursing, pre-med, radiology, respiratory, vet tech)
  • Certified in phlebotomy
  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to be insured by hospital's insurance carrier
  • CPR - BLS certificate within 2 weeks of hire

Nice To Haves

  • EMT Basic certification
  • 1-2 years of experience
