About The Position

Sentara is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is Full-Time (36hrs) and involves evening shifts from 11A-11P. An ED Tech assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. They perform patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team. Key tasks include starting IV's, performing EKGs, conducting Point of Care testing, drawing Blood Cultures, taking Vital Signs, arrival prioritization, and stocking supplies. Sentara Princess Anne Hospital is a 174-bed acute care hospital that provides quality clinical outcomes, experienced physicians, advanced technology, and a patient-centered approach to care in southern Virginia Beach, as well as neighboring Chesapeake and Northeastern North Carolina communities. Requirements

  • Clinical - <1 year
  • EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR. Current students enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).
  • Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.
