About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician’s primary responsibility is to facilitate patient flow. The ED Technician provides basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They may perform selected procedures as defined in the Patient Care Standards Manual. Patient care would include: obtaining vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, obtaining specimens, preparing, and assisting patients for clinician evaluation, and assisting clinician. They will see that the area is orderly, well stocked with supplies and equipment is ready for use. Enloe Health is a Level II Trauma Center located in beautiful Northern California. Requirements

  • Current CPR Certification
  • Previous medical training such as EMT or Military Corpsman OR six months emergency department or pre-hospital experience
  • Technical competence and capability of using electronic medical records and centralized monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and public.
  • Ability to show sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical and grammatical skills necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Clerical and computer skills for a variety of support functions.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

  • One year experience on an ambulance or in an emergency department
