About The Position

The purpose of the Relief RN is to provide support to the Emergency Department by picking up shifts or hours during a shift. This Relief RN can provide lunch reliefs, take full patient assignments, oversee Fellowes during orientation, precept new hires, teach new skills, as well as but not limited to aiding throughput during high volume periods.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position (for new hires)
  • Current licensure as RN in Florida or valid licensure in one of the states under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). If licensed under the eNLC, must obtain FL RN licensure within 90 days of becoming a Florida resident.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS from the American Heart Association
  • PALS and NRP certifications required within six (6) months of hire or transfer
  • 3-5 years RN experience in an Emergency Department and/or ICU
  • Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN
  • CEN or TNCC preferred
  • At least three (3) years of RN experience in a high volume and fast paced emergency department.
