About The Position

Tower Behavioral Health (TBH) in Reading, PA is seeking passionate Registered Nurses (RN) to join their nursing team. TBH is a state-of-the-art Psych-Safe facility offering inpatient and outpatient programs, counseling, and treatment for substance use disorders to adults, adolescents, and seniors. The facility is located on a serene, partially wooded parcel on the west side of Route 183 in Reading, PA.

Requirements

  • Current RN License as required by state.
  • Current ACLS certification and Current IV Certification required.
  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

  • Monthly in-person and online trainings to increase skills of nursing staff, including CIWA and COWS assessments, facilitating groups, suture removal, phlebotomy, and EKGs.
  • Healthstream modules monthly, Crisis Prevention Institute’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training on-site, CPR in house

Responsibilities

  • Provide education about the ECT procedure and obtain a level of understanding from the patient and family.
  • Work within the treatment team to provide pre-treatment assessment, treatment monitoring and post-anesthesia recovery management for patients and assure the smooth flow of patients through the ECT process.
  • Participate in development and evaluation of nursing practices provided in the clinical setting and the overall function of the clinical area including the ECT Suite.
  • Use multiple data sources to determine actual/potential health issues, functional status and safety concerns.
  • Communicate patient’s condition and need for altered care with treatment team.
  • Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients, initiates and continues pulse oximetry, oxygen saturation and EKG monitoring throughout treatment and recovery.
  • Demonstrate safe, accurate and timely monitoring of cardiac and respiratory status and promote interventions that provide the least-restrictive and safest recovery.
  • Provide nursing care in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
