The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Statistics Department (STA), specifically its Real Sector Division (STARE), is seeking an Economist/Senior Economist. This role will focus on implementing the department's work program in input-output related economic and environmental analysis, and national accounts. STARE provides global leadership in macroeconomic statistical methodologies and standards, supporting IMF surveillance and lending operations by enhancing member countries' capabilities in producing and disseminating macroeconomic and financial statistics. The division is responsible for setting international standards in national accounts, input-output analysis, and price statistics, and contributes to the development of international macroeconomic statistical standards. STARE plays a key role in developing global databases on national accounts and prices, including the Multi-Analytical Input-Output (MARIO) database, and contributes to the IMF's emerging climate change and environmental economic statistics program. Additionally, STARE is a significant contributor to the department's capacity development program through technical assistance and training for IMF member countries in national accounts and price statistics.
