As a General Motors Economics Summer Intern, you will support strategic decision-making by analyzing the global macroeconomy, United States and international automotive markets, and key public policy developments. You will apply your economics training and coding skills to support economic modeling, develop digital tools for internal business partners, and prepare written analysis that translates complex data into clear insights for decision-makers. This is a hands-on, learning-focused opportunity for a graduate student seeking to deepen their understanding of applied macroeconomics and gain experience on an in-house economics team. The General Motors Economics team is part of Global Planning and Customer Research. The team supports senior leaders across the company through data-driven analysis of the global economy and automotive industry. The team conducts applied economic research, develops industry forecasts, and analyzes public policy topics to inform General Motors’ business strategy, public policy engagement, and external communications. This internship offers the opportunity to learn applied economics in a real-world setting while working with the Chief Economist and other members of the economics team.
