About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Health aims to protect and promote the health of its residents and ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services. This role involves empowering professionals statewide through high-quality training focused on critical programs like SNAP, FITAP, and STEP. The position requires guiding staff and stakeholders through engaging, technology-driven learning experiences, leading statewide workshops, shaping curriculum, and mentoring new trainers to enhance workforce performance and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Five years of economic stability social services experience.
  • OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
  • OR A bachelor's degree plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
  • OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus one year of economic stability social services experience.
  • Applicants must clearly describe their experience with specific Economic Stability, Medicaid programs, etc., and/or identify the section or unit in which they performed economic stability social services work (e.g., SNAP/Economic Stability, Child Care Assistance Program, Strategies to Empower People, Family Independence Temp Assistance, Medicare/Medicaid, etc.) within their job duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional, high-quality instructor-led and web-based training on ES-specific and department-wide curricula to staff and stakeholders statewide.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences using adult learning principles and technology tools, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and training evaluation.
  • Maintain strict adherence to standardized training curricula while tracking, reporting, and evaluating training outcomes.
  • Develop, update, and revise training materials and courses to reflect current policies, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct statewide training sessions, workshops, and conferences, including all logistical preparation and communication with stakeholders.
  • Lead and support train-the-trainer initiatives by coaching new trainers, providing feedback, and contributing to curriculum design and improvement.
  • Assess training needs, conduct evaluations and surveys, and provide recommendations and technical assistance to enhance staff development and program performance.
