Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Economics, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Proven experience in counseling, social services, or economic development
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
Knowledge of financial literacy, budgeting, credit repair, and employment resources
Ability to assess client needs and develop practical, achievable plans
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others improve their economic circumstances
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software

Bilingual abilities are a plus

Responsibilities

Provide personalized counseling to clients seeking to improve their economic stability and achieve financial goals
Assess clients’ financial situations, including income, expenses, debts, and assets
Develop tailored action plans to help clients improve budgeting, savings, credit management, and employment opportunities
Connect clients with community resources, job training programs, and financial education services
Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure sustainable economic mobility
Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation
Collaborate with community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders to support client success
Stay informed about current economic trends, social services, and relevant policies affecting clients
