About The Position

Summit Golf Brands is seeking an Ecommerce Merchandising Manager to serve as the product authority on their ecommerce team. This role is responsible for understanding product performance, trends, and strategic communication. The manager will report to the Head of Ecommerce and act as a liaison between planning, creative, and design teams, ensuring alignment on product strategy and presentation for the ecommerce channel. This is a strategic role influencing product strategy, shaping on-site presentation, supporting buying decisions with data, and guiding the creative team. The ideal candidate is passionate about product, data analysis, and driving commercial success through effective merchandising.

Requirements

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in ecommerce merchandising, product, or a closely related role within apparel, golf, or sports retail.
  • Shopify proficiency is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to move conversion rate and average order value through merchandising strategy.
  • Hands-on experience managing product catalogs and on-site merchandising in a fast-moving environment.
  • Deep understanding of fashion and product trends with the ability to translate them into commercial decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience pulling and interpreting performance data.
  • Experience supporting buy decisions and working cross-functionally with planning or inventory teams.
  • A bias toward action and providing solutions for underperforming areas.
  • Confidence in briefing and directing creative teams on product priorities and shoot needs.
  • A sharp eye for visual presentation and brand consistency.
  • Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A true product mindset; thinking like a merchant and communicating like a creative.
  • Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising, marketing, business, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the ecommerce team's product expert across all Summit Golf Brands categories.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle online, including digital merchandising, pricing, and promotional cadence.
  • Determine product features, organization, and prioritization across collection pages, category architecture, and key placements.
  • Build and maintain collections and landing pages reflecting trends, seasonal narratives, and commerce moments (launches, new arrivals, promotions).
  • Build event-specific collections for key moments (tournament activations, brand partnerships, holiday gifting, flash sales), aligning with the marketing calendar.
  • Lead strategy and content direction for landing pages supporting product features, gift guides, and brand storytelling.
  • Ensure the right product assortment is presented on site, sequenced to drive discovery and conversion.
  • Drive conversion rate and average order value improvement through product sorting, collection layouts, outfit building, and data-backed product pairing.
  • Build outfit and complementary product groupings to increase basket size and time on site.
  • Direct A/B testing strategy on product sequencing, collection structures, and page layouts.
  • Own the product glossary and ensure accurate, complete, and visually consistent product information on-site.
  • Own site navigation and taxonomy for a seamless customer journey.
  • Provide daily content direction for on-site updates based on customer service, team input, and leadership.
  • Inform and influence future season buy recommendations using sell-through data, trend analysis, and ecommerce demand signals.
  • Compile buy plans for future seasons based on historical data and ecommerce growth goals.
  • Partner with planning to ensure adequate inventory depth for site strategies, promotions, and seasonal pushes.
  • Manage ecommerce-specific inventory in partnership with the warehouse team.
  • Identify assortment gaps and provide data-backed recommendations to planning and leadership.
  • Highlight and elevate key styles across selling periods, collections, and partnerships.
  • Own stockout prevention on key styles by identifying inventory risks early.
  • Develop a strong command of reorder timing and inventory flow for high-demand styles.
  • Develop strategic shot lists and prioritize products for shoots based on purchase data, trends, and business needs.
  • Brief the creative team on product stories, key styles, and seasonal themes for shoots.
  • Ensure the creative team has the context and direction to shoot the right product effectively.
  • Partner with the Fashion Production Associate on shoot priorities, product selection, and briefs.
  • Support the marketing team with key style information for creative assets.
  • Collaborate with marketing on email editorial and on-site content for accuracy and commercial focus.
  • Partner with the Copywriter on collection narratives, product descriptions, and on-site copy.
  • Inform naming, structure, and content strategy for collection pages, product titles, and category architecture with SEO in mind.
  • Use on-site search data to understand customer needs and improve the site experience.
  • Monitor peak search trends and recommend optimal timing for featuring collections.
  • Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly merchandising reporting, identifying performance trends.
  • Propose and execute pivots for underperforming products (creative changes, copy updates, placement swaps).
  • Track and work toward improving core ecommerce metrics (conversion rate, average order value).
  • Use data to drive actionable recommendations in cross-functional conversations.
  • Stay informed on trend data, search behavior, and competitor activity.
