About The Position

Ross Simons, a leading ecommerce provider of fine jewelry, is seeking a hands-on Ecommerce Merchandiser to join their Shopify Team. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day merchandising, content, and promotional execution for their Shopify Plus site, which features a catalog of 15,000 items across numerous categories. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in Shopify daily, managing collections, setting up promotions, building landing pages, editing site content, and troubleshooting issues with the goal of improving conversion rate (CVR) and average order value (AOV). This is a builder's role for an energetic self-starter passionate about consumer goods and the digital environment, offering ownership over a significant part of the online shopping experience.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, digital merchandising, or site management.
  • Hands-on Shopify or Shopify Plus experience — theme editor, sections/blocks, metafields, collections, navigation, apps.
  • Comfort managing a large, complex catalog and collection taxonomy.
  • Working knowledge of basic HTML/CSS/Liquid for content troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with GA4, Shopify Analytics, TripleWhale for day-to-day reporting.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented — comfortable owning a high volume of moving pieces without a team to delegate to.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Constructor (or comparable on-site search/merchandising platforms like Searchspring, Algolia, Bloomreach, Unbxd) strongly preferred.
  • Bonus: experience in jewelry, fashion, or luxury retail.
  • Bonus: experience with personalization/upsell apps (Nosto, Rebuy, Bold, ReConvert, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain product collections, category structure, and site navigation across the full catalog.
  • Curate product sets, edits, and thematic collections (occasion, material, price tier, trend).
  • Build and manage cross-sell/upsell placements and bundling to drive AOV.
  • Execute on-site content updates using best-practices for homepage, landing pages, PDPs, boutiques, collection pages, banners, etc.
  • Set up, schedule, and QA promotions, discount codes, and sales events.
  • Run regular site QA across devices and browsers to catch broken links, pricing issues, and content errors; catch pricing/discount errors before they go live.
  • Assist with merchandising for on-site search and browse experience via Constructor — synonyms, redirects, boosts/burying, facets, and merchandising rules.
  • Monitor search performance (zero-result queries, click-through, search-to-conversion) and adjust Constructor configuration to close gaps.
  • Monitor CVR, AOV, and collection-level performance using GA4 and Shopify Analytics, and turn insights into action.
  • Support A/B and test-and-learn initiatives to improve the shopping experience.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) safe harbor plans, life insurance, and optional perks like pet and auto insurance.
  • Competitive Pay & Perks: Strong compensation packages, employee discounts, and summer hours flexibility.
  • Career Growth: Clear advancement opportunities with a proven track record of internal promotions.
  • Engaged, Supportive Culture: Inclusive workplace with employee-led events, wellness initiatives, and a strong focus on community involvement.
  • Role Ownership: You'll have real ownership over a major, high-traffic part of our business — not just executing someone else's plan, but shaping how thousands of customers discover and shop our products every day.
