The eCommerce Business Development Specialist will serve as lead on digital and eCommerce operations, with a strong focus on driving customer adoption, revenue growth, and digital sales performance. This role involves developing, maintaining, and implementing strategies and operational efficiencies to expand utilization of QED's digital business and eCommerce solutions. Key activities include creating and managing system-to-system eCommerce profiles and mapping, engaging Sonepar USA integration partners for customer eProcurement setup, collaborating with internal teams to optimize product visibility and ensure web catalog accuracy, and managing new and existing digital customer accounts. The specialist will partner closely with Sales to identify opportunities for digital expansion within existing accounts, support new customer acquisition, and increase share of wallet through eCommerce channels. They will act as a key resource in demonstrating the value of digital tools, helping position QED’s platforms as a competitive advantage that drives customer efficiency and loyalty. Although this position reports to the Marketing Director, the role operates cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and IT, with a primary focus on business development and digital revenue growth rather than traditional marketing functions. The role will manage QED's Digital Job Center platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business, marketing, or technology-related field
  • Digital business, eCommerce, or technology experience required
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience specifically related to the position (ERP platform, business-to business environment, eCommerce, electrical distribution, etc.)
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, distribution, lighting, or similar industry.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  • Must demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and execution skills.
  • Must have the ability to set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities and ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Ability to partner with Sales teams to identify opportunities, influence buying decisions, and support digital revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of customer business systems and how to integrate QED's digital solutions.
  • Serving as a backup to Digital Business Development Managers, help customers use digital solutions to become more efficient in their day-to-day activities.
  • Work with Inside Sales Representatives and Digital Business Development Managers to create system-to-system profiles, map products and orders accurately, and sustain usage of the tools.
  • Recommend internal process enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Work closely with the Sonepar USA Integration team and customers to ensure EDI and Punchout integrations are implemented cleanly.
  • Collaborate internally with Operations and Eclipse ERP support to ensure automatic notifications are configured and delivered correctly.
  • Resolve digital product or service problems by clarifying the customer's or branch team’s issue; determine the cause of the problem; select and explain the best solution to solve the problem; expedite correction or adjustment; and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Serve as lead for customer and product clean up.
  • Schedule and manage regular calls with Purchasing, Credit, Eclipse ERP support, and Pricing departments to ensure data is being effectively managed.
  • Ensure an efficient account creation process from start to finish, including new account requests, setup, and authorizations using Web Admin tools, the Eclipse ERP, the Conexiom platform, and/or third-party EDI portals.
  • Manage and optimize platforms including: Solar Eclipse, CRM/SSM, Wrike, eProcurement Portals, and Conexiom.
