About The Position

Green Circle Growers was founded in 1968 by John van Wingerden. With just a few acres, Green Circle Growers began selling to other companies like variety stores, lumber yards, hardware stores, and grocery stores. Today, Green Circle Growers is still owned and operated by the van Wingerden family and has grown to over 170 acres of indoor growing space. Our state-of-the-art greenhouses offer many different environments to keep up with the demanding mix of products that today’s market expects. We now provide plants to regional and national stores across the United States and Canada. We are able to market and offer broad products to mass merchants, as well as to growers. The retail market expects the full line of annuals in flats, containers, and baskets. The grower line produces pre-finished containers, plugs, and liners. POSITION OVERVIEW: The eCommerce Account Manager is responsible for working with the eCommerce Manager to maximize sales volume and market share for our products sold online through both third-party vendors and owned platforms. The eCommerce Account Manager will assist in executing the strategy while managing a budget and interfacing with external customers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture Science, or Business or a related field or relevant experience
  • 1-3+ years of sales experience required
  • A flexible work schedule due to the seasonality of business; to include some weekends
  • Knowledge of ERP, CRM, business intelligence, and reporting systems required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of promotion techniques, negotiation tactics, distribution channels, and goodwill
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to travel up to 15% + (domestic)
  • Willingness to live and work from the north central Ohio area

Nice To Haves

  • Greenhouse experience and/or retail experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages and sells to a variety of assigned accounts and manages the day-to-day customer interactions within those accounts
  • Support the eCommerce Manager in facilitating line reviews and driving promotional opportunities
  • Act as key point of contact for additional ecommerce retailers
  • Assist in the creation of monthly sales forecasts
  • Monitor and report on our top priority product performance across the ecommerce channel and provide updates
  • Seek out, land, and develop new business opportunities within the ecommerce channel
  • Account maintenance and ongoing monthly forecasting and reporting
  • Holiday and peak season planning and support
  • Identify and pursue new and emerging digital commerce business development opportunities
  • Conduct greenhouse packing audits to ensure packing integrity and document and resolve packing issues
  • Coordinate onsite with greenhouse operations 2-3 times per week and more during peak season
  • Coordinate, audit, and pack samples for customers for integrity and quality
  • Work with operations and procurement to ensure proper inventory levels for future orders
  • Assist the eCommerce Manager in providing the weekly forecast to the operations team
  • Coordinate new item samples to current and potential customers
  • Assist the operations team as needed during peak season
  • Audit online pricing, products, and inventory to ensure proper data integrity is maintained
  • All other duties as assigned
