About The Position

We are seeking an ECLSS Flight Hardware Project Manager to join the JETSII contract. This role involves performing project management for the sustainment of International Space Station (ISS) and Orion hardware development, manufacturing, and assembly. Responsibilities include troubleshooting anomalies, resupplying hardware, providing budgeting, forecasting, and cost estimating support, monitoring cost performance, developing and maintaining financial reports for both company and government customers, and overseeing the development of procedures, work instructions, and process flows. The Project Manager will also review and analyze financial data for accuracy, interface with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA managers, and operational customers, and plan and execute hardware troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical failures. Additionally, the role requires developing and presenting project status at NASA customer Technical, Cost, Schedule, and Risk (TCSR) reviews, finalizing requirements for NASA's annual Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) exercise and Internal Task Agreement (ITA), and supporting NASA Program assessments. Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Prior experience with Government and internal company financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating.
  • Prior experience managing and leading a team.
  • Experience with NASA/JSC Class I flight hardware process and certification.
  • Must be able to review Work Authorization Documents (WADs) to process Class I hardware for flight/testing support.
  • Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NASA flight hardware processing for spaceflight.
  • Experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis.
  • Experience at JSC or other NASA agency.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process.
  • Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with NASA/JSC Class I flight hardware process and certification.
  • Familiarity with reviewing Work Authorization Documents (WADs) to process Class I hardware for flight/testing support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project management for the sustainment of International Space Station (ISS) and Orion hardware development, manufacturing, and assembly.

  • Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within flight hardware or test support hardware.
  • Develop and present project status at NASA customer Technical, Cost, Schedule, and Risk (TCSR) reviews.
  • Finalize requirements for NASA's annual Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) exercise and the Internal Task Agreement (ITA) with the NASA program.
  • Support NASA Program assessments.
  • Perform other duties as required.
