About The Position

Performs echocardiographic procedures, using special equipment, to measure, calculate, and report pertinent patient data to facilitate accurate diagnostic outcome. Conducts Echocardiograms as requested throughout the Medical Center, including all patient rooms and the emergency room. Explains procedure to patients, providing instructions and direct care to ensure accuracy and patient comfort. Assesses data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient requirement. Recognizes artifacts, eliminates probable sources and troubleshoots minor equipment problems. Consistently meets department standards for RVUs while maintaining quality work. Processes images acquired from different modalities according to established policies and procedures. Performs data entry as it relates to procedures, in PACS and Electronic Health Record. Practices radiation safety and ensures that other staff and students are compliant. Obtains pertinent clinical data adequately as it relates to procedures performed. Analyzes, processes, and reports outcomes in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduated from an accredited ultrasound program specializing in echocardiography
• Two years' experience performing adult echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms
